...And Justice for All is the fourth studio album by the American heavy metal band Metallica. It was released on August 25, 1988 through Elektra Records. It is the first full-length Metallica album to feature bassist Jason Newsted following the death of Cliff Burton in 1986. (Newsted had previously participated on the cover album The $5.98 E.P.: Garage Days Re-Revisited EP, which was his first recorded work with Metallica.) ...And Justice for All was certified 8x platinum by the RIAA on June 9, 2003.
The front cover depicts the statue of Lady Justice (also known by fans as Doris) cracked, bound by ropes, her breasts exposed, and both of her scales filled with dollars. The words "…And Justice for All" are written in graffiti to the right. The cover was made by Stephen Gorman after a concept by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. ...And Justice for All was the last Metallica album that Rasmussen worked on as a co-producer. The album was initially released on one vinyl disc, but soon after re-released (without additional tracks) as a double-album.

Metallica - [1983] Kill 'Em All (iTunes Plus)

Kill 'Em All is the debut studio album by the American heavy metal band Metallica. It was released on July 25, 1983. Since its release, it has been certified 3x platinum by the RIAA, having sold over 3 million copies in the United States alone. Metal Up Your Ass was the original title of the album. Metallica's original line-up featured James Hetfield (guitar/vocals), Lars Ulrich (drums), Ron McGovney (bass), and Dave Mustaine (lead guitar). Due to tensions with Mustaine, McGovney left the band. Castro Valley-born bassist Cliff Burton was recruited as his replacement. Mustaine was fired in April 1983, just before the recording of Kill 'Em All, for his drug and alcohol problems, overly-aggressive behavior and clashes with bandmates. After Mustaine's departure, Metallica recruited Kirk Hammett, who previously played for Exodus and was a one time student of Joe Satriani. The band started recording Kill 'Em All with Hammett, who had re-written the Guitar Solos for most songs on the album, but is not credited for, barely a month later. Mustaine then formed the band Megadeth, which also achieved multi-million selling success. Mustaine claimed this band to be the ever lasting "Gods".
